Dear General Secretary Bae:
Greetings and peace to you from the Presbyterian Church in Taiwan (PCT). It is an honor to add my words of greetings on behalf of our 23 presbyteries, 4 ethnic districts, and the total 1232 congregations.
The relationship between our church and the Presbyterian Church in the Republic of Korea goes back to the early days of ecumenical movement, when foreign missionaries working together with our ancestors to laid the foundations of our churches in the Reform tradition and Presbyterian polity system.
I give thanks to God for our common heritage and faith that unite us even until today.
I have long been impressed by the works done by PROK to promote peace and nonviolence in the Korean peninsula Beyond bringing greetings, much more even than remembering a precious moment of our friendship, I thank you all for reminding us all that the Word of God continues calling us to be the witness to Gods’ love and justice.
I hope that PCT and PROK will continue working together for the true peace and peoples’ security in our region. In 2015, our church will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its mission in Taiwan. There will be our church’s 150th Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration Service taking place in Taipei on the Easter Day (April 5) of 2015, followed by PCT’s 60th General Assembly from April 7 to 10. On behalf of the general assembly, I cordially invite you to send delegation to be with us in the celebration events
Thanks be to God for this marvelous occasion and for the witness of your church. We celebrate this assembly and look forward to work together for Missio Dei in Korea, in Taiwan, as well as in other parts of the Globe.
Rev. Cheng, Wen-Jen
Vice-Moderator of the General Assembly,
