6월23일 독일복음선교연대(EMS) 실행위원들이 함께 참석한 월요촛불기도회에서 전한 총무 인사입니다. 한국기독교장로회 총회는 동독 라이프치히에 위치한 니콜라이 교회의 작은 기도모임을 통해서 독일의 평일이 시작되었듯이, 한반도 평화통일이 이뤄지기까지 함께 기도해주기를 요청하였습니다.

Dear Moderator of EMS, Rev. Wagner, Presidium Rev. Rieth, Rev. Wagner and
Rev. Badr, EMS Management Board, Members of EMS Council, members of
Kwangju Presbytery of PROK, Moderator Lee Cheol Woo, dear congregational
members of Korea Chinese Church, Rev. Kim Hae Sung, PROK brothers and
sisters, friends in Jesus Christ,
It is my pleasure to welcome you here this evening to this holy time.
As we have shared bread and wine here tonight, we pray Koreans of North and
South will soon be able to gather around a common table again.
This PROK Monday Night Prayer Gathering is not only following the footsteps of
Jesus Christ, but also has been inspired by our brother church in Deutschland
Churches Monday Night Prayer Services. It is the PROK’s commitment to urgent
and steadfast prayer for unification of our one peninsula, which will last until
unification comes in the spirit of Jesus whose prayer was that all may be one.
We are very grateful that EMS has for many years supported democratization
and the desire for peaceful unification of the Korean Peninsula. The WCC also
has consistently shown its solidarity with our longing, and that was confirmed by
the Busan Assembly's acceptance of the work of Ecumenical Conversation #17,
Statement on Peace and Reunification of the Korean Peninsula.
Thank you, Chairperson Rev. Wagner and Presidium, and General Secretary
Reichel, for your words of inspiration and hope this evening, which strengthen
our resolve to follow the call of God’s unity. We pray that for you, the coming
days of this visit to Korea, will be profitable and that the work of the Evangelical
Mission in Solidarity may be blessed to carry out God’s justice and peace for
the world in the unity of all Christians. I greet you in the name of all the members
of the PROK in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen
