The 98th General Assembly of PROK will be held on Sept. 24 – 27, 2013, in SongGwang Church, Kunsan City, North Jeolla Province, Korea. As it is our 60th anniversary, we are inviting Dorothea to join our General Assembly, and bring a partnership message and sharing of personal memories of the PROK as an ecumenical co-worker. This is scheduled on the fourth day, September 27 during the morning worship..
“The Church being renewed in the light of Jesus Christ” is the theme for this year’s General Assembly with the scriptural basis from Micah 7: 9; I John 1: 5-7and John 8: 12.
As it is the year of the WCC General Assembly, we are not inviting other representation from EMS at this time. But we would like to request for EMS written greetings. We would appreciate it very much if you can send your written greetings on or before August 23 for translation work and for inclusion into our assembly handbook.
We are grateful indeed for the initial positive response from Dorothea. We are trying to find a cheaper ticket for her and as soon as we can have it we will inform you. Ms. Karina Schumacher is helping us with this matter. Based on the information we gathered, she would spend time in Korea until October 25 and we would like to know whether we should make arrangements for her stay after General Assembly.
We look forward to having Dorothea in the PROK General Assembly.
