Dear friends of Hessen und Nassau Church,
On behalf of the whole PROK, I would like to express deep appreciation for the generosity you have exhibited in the gift we received on Nov. 26 on behalf of one of our ministries which suffered devastating damage in a fire.
We rejoice in the relationship of compassion EKHN has with the migrant centre, Global Sarang, the Chinese Migrant Workers’ Church and Soup Kitchen, administered by Rev. Kim Hae Seong. In June it was a joy to share the Diakonia group from EKHN visiting various welfare centres of the PROK, among them Global Sarang. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and learning.
Then very sadly, at the beginning of Oct., the building was damaged by a fire. As we were already making arrangements for the WCC delegation of EKHN to visit Seoul before going on to Kwangju and Busan for the General Assembly, we felt it an important opportunity to take your group from EKHN to this place for prayer to build on the relationship already started.
On Nov. 26, we received a generous donation of 40,000 Euros, (about 57,000,000 Korean won) which is, as you said in your attending letter, a “sign of solidarity”.
As you know, many other ministries of Global Sarang are affected by the results of this fire, and so, for all of them that support many migrant workers’ groups in Seoul, we share our gratitude for your loving gift, which will enable the necessary restoration to take place and the ministries of service and hope to resume.
May God richly bless you for your mercy and caring for PROK.
