배태진 목사님 및 기장총회 직원께,
2015년은 기장과 일본그리스도연합교회의 관계에 있어서 기억할 만한 해였습니다. 지난 1월 양 교회의 대표들은 토론토에서 만남을 갖았습니다. 이후, 일본그리스도연합교회의 나가오 목사가 한신대학교 에큐메니즘 및 사회변혁 과정에 등록하게 되었습니다. 이후 9월에는 제100회 총회가 있었고, 배태진 목사님께서 동경에 있는 사무실에 방문해 주셔서 선교인사관계 문제에 대해 진전된 논의를 시작했습니다.
저희는 다른 교회와 그리스도의 몸의 지체로서 함께 지지하고 협조하는 것이 얼마나 아름다운 것인지 목격하고 있습니다.
일본그리스도연합교회 역시 배태진 총무님께 기쁨과 평화가 가득한 성탄절 되시길 기원합니다.

Dear Rev. Bae, Tae-Jin,
executives and staffs,
The year 2015 has been
a memorial year for the PROK-UCCJ relationship.
The year started with
the encounter of both church’s representatives in Toronto in January. It is
followed by Rev. Nagao’s enrollment to your Hanshin Th. Seminary’s Studies in
Ecumenism and Social Transformation. Then your 100th General Assembly
in September. The culmination was your visit to our office in Tokyo to start the
epoch-making discussion of the mission personnel issues.
We witness how
beautiful it is to find the different denominations support and cooperate with
each other as members of Christ’s body.
The United Church of
Christ in Japan, too, wishes you a Christmas filled with joy and
peace.
